Our massive family decided to escape to the mountains for some well-deserved R&R over the weekend, but failed to decide on which area they were going to. After several hours of deliberation over which place to go to, a little bit of yelling, and lots of sighing in exasperation, I booked some non-refundable rooms and suddenly we were going to Asheville whether we liked it or not.

Party in the USA
Returning to the United States has been a bit of a culture shock - which shouldn’t be shocking, considering Food and I opted to return right before the most American of days. Not only was it Independence Day - when all true ‘muricans sing the song of our people by cawing like an eagle (the … Continue reading Party in the USA
Copenhagen, Denmark

We stopped by Copenhagen for a mere day before heading over the Oresund Bridge to Sweden, but amazing weather, really good food, and the feel of the city won us over in no time. https://www.instagram.com/p/BEwvCJenD3k/ First order of business - eating. I swear Food eats her body weight after getting off a train, plane, or … Continue reading Copenhagen, Denmark
Amsterdam, Netherlands

Our flight from Budapest to Amsterdam took a little detour through Copenhagen (hello, Denmark), and both Madison and I were delighted with the efficiency and organization of literally everything. Which makes more sense? Taking two hours to go through the horror that is airport security or the same process taking merely ten minutes due to … Continue reading Amsterdam, Netherlands
Carnaval in Sitges
"'Twas the night before Lent, and all throughout Sitges, every creature was stirring, throwing glitter on beaches. Not a child was safe at home or in bed, for all the parents had lost their damned heads." If Clement Clarke Moore had to write a poem about Carnaval I’m almost certain it’d have gone something like … Continue reading Carnaval in Sitges
Budapest, Hungary

I used to think that George Ezra’s song about giving up all his treasures, land, and belongings in Budapest to run after some unknown lover was romantic. I still think it’s romantic, but I also think he’s a bit crazy. Having visited Budapest for a few days, I think I’d find a way to convince … Continue reading Budapest, Hungary
24 Hours in Berlin

Whew! It’s been two months since I’ve posted anything and it’s been a whirlwind of a time. More stuff has gone on than you can possibly know, and so, while I’d apologize for my absence under normal circumstances, I’m not going to. Food and I have moved flats after having difficulty with water damage and … Continue reading 24 Hours in Berlin
Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy
Our last stop on our two-week long adventure was Cagliari, Italy. Honestly, out of all the cities we ported at; Cagliari was the least planned for and likely the least thought about. But now, after being back in Barcelona and reminiscing on the memories; some of the fondest came from Cagliari and the sweet people we … Continue reading Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy
